Four Pillar Friday
Your weekly guide to thriving in every aspect of life—Physical, Mental, Spiritual, and Financial Wellness.
This Week’s Quote:
“Time and health are two precious assets that we don’t recognize and appreciate until they have been depleted.” — Denis Waitley
Physical Wellness
This week’s Huberman Lab podcast episode dives into strategies to enhance alertness, improve sleep, and optimize physical performance. Dr. Andrew Huberman discusses the best times for exercise, eating, and light exposure, along with how to adjust body temperature to regulate your nervous system. These insights perfectly align with our focus on physical wellness, offering practical tools to boost your energy and health.
Mental Wellness
Reconnecting with old friends can feel daunting, but it’s deeply rewarding. This Scientific American article explores the psychology of reconnection and provides actionable tips to rebuild meaningful relationships. Overcome awkwardness, find the right moment, and strengthen bonds to enhance your emotional well-being.
Financial Wellness
Wise words from Michael Baker in his recent blog post:
“Wealth isn’t the goal—it’s the tool. A life well-lived is about using your resources to pursue what truly matters: joy, legacy, and fulfillment. It’s not just about numbers; it’s about aligning your finances with your purpose. Reflect, adapt, and stay intentional. Live richly, not just successfully.”
Let this inspire you to focus on the journey, not just the destination. What does a life well-lived mean to you?
Spiritual Wellness
Sebastian Junger, a former war reporter, faced his closest brush with death at home in 2020, surviving a ruptured aneurysm. This experience led him to explore mortality and what happens after we die. In In My Time of Dying, Junger blends personal narrative, medical drama, and philosophical inquiry to confront life’s ultimate questions and the mysteries of the unknown.

Mid-Quarter Market Commentary
While the Fed and the market are fairly aligned in their expectations, fixed income markets are likely to remain somewhat volatile while the fiscal impacts of the new administration’s policies become clearer. However, higher yields insulate bond investors from interest rate risk and elevated equity valuations make bonds more attractive on a relative basis. Given the level of concentration within US equity markets, we believe that international, value and small-cap equities provide a critical element of diversification. We advocate building portfolios to achieve your long-term goals as opposed to trying to react to the latest headlines. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to your advisor to schedule time to discuss your financial plan, including your goals and planning assumptions.
